EPL: Tottenham stunned by Crystal Palace in London derby

Tottenham Hotspur suffered a shocking 3–1 home defeat to Crystal Palace after Micky van de Ven’s red card triggered a dramatic collapse in north London.

The hosts initially appeared on course for a long-awaited win when England striker Dominic Solanke put them ahead in the 34th minute with a close-range finish.

However, the game turned just four minutes later when Dutch defender Micky van de Ven was sent off for pulling down Ismaila Sarr after misjudging the flight of the ball.

Palace capitalised on the numerical advantage with a devastating response, scoring three times in 12 first-half minutes.

Sarr converted the resulting penalty in the 40th minute to level the match before January signing Jørgen Strand Larsen fired Palace ahead in first-half stoppage time following a precise pass from Adam Wharton.

Sarr then grabbed his second moments later after another defence-splitting delivery from Wharton, sealing a stunning turnaround and handing Palace consecutive league wins at Tottenham for the first time.

The defeat deepens the crisis for Tottenham Hotspur, who remain winless in 2026 and sit 16th in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone.

They have now lost five straight league matches and are without a win in 11 top-flight games for the first time since 1975.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace climb to 13th after securing a morale-boosting victory.

Tottenham face a daunting schedule ahead, with a crucial league trip to Liverpool FC on March 15 and a UEFA Champions League round-of-16 clash against Atlético Madrid looming next week.
