Coach Eric Chelle has said the Super Eagles are ready to play a great game against hosts South Africa tomorrow in a decisive 2026 World Cup qualifier.
Nigeria need to win to stay alive in the World Cup qualifying series as they are six points adrift of leaders South Africa with three rounds of matches to be played.
“This is a big game, I am really happy to play this game, like my players,” Eric Chelle stated in a pre-match media briefing.
“This is the moment to do a great game against a very good with a lot of good players .”
He admitted that injured Victor Osimhen is a big loss for the Super Eagles.
“Osimhen is a big star, a very good player, but I also have a big group and they want to play a great game,” he maintained.
He said it is for FIFA to manage South Africa’s use of an ineligible player in a previous qualifier as his own focus is on his team.
