Former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sir Mike Okiro, has expressed sorrow over the demise of former Inspector-General of Police, Mr Solomon Ehigiator Arase.
This is as he called on the Nigerian government to support and assist the family in honouring his memory.
In a statement made available to journalists in Abuja, Okiro, who condoled with the Nigeria government, the Nigerian Police, and the immediate family of the late police chief, lauded Arase’s contributions to Nigeria, the NPF and his professionalism.

Okiro further described Arase as a seasoned police officer and lawyer whose contribution to the Nigerian Police Force will always be remembered and cherished.
“Arase’s distinguished career, including serving as the Chairman of the Police Service Commission and heading the Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Bureau, was well documented.
“His academic and professional credentials, as well as his international exposure through his service in Namibia with the United Nations Mission, are all testament to his successful career.” the former IGP said.
Okiro, therefore, extended his deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased as well as to the entire Nigerian Police Force and the nation as a whole over his passing.
His legacy, he noted, will continue to inspire current and future generations of police officers.
