Ex-SSG emerges Rivers ADC governorship candidate 

The African Democratic Congress has declared a former Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr Gabriel Pidomson, as the governorship candidate in the  state.

Pidomson scored 112, 086 to defeat four other aspirants who contested the primary election across the 23 local government areas of the state.

Chairman of the ADC Primary Election in Rivers State, Carol  Obaro, made the declaration after collating the final results at the ADC secretariat in Port Harcourt on Saturday night.

The other aspirant, Sekonte Davies, polled 16,872 to come a distant second, while a former governorship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party, Farah Dagogo, scored 2,369, placing third in the contest.

Obaro stated, “Therefore, the highest score here I have 112, 068 votes for Gabriel Pidomson have satisfied the requirements of the ADC and the constitution scored the highest votes and is hereby declared the winner of the primary election and is returned elected as the ADC gubernatorial candidate in Rivers State this day 22nd of May 2026.

“I, Hon. Carol Obaro, as Chairman of the Primary Election Committee in Rivers State, so declare.”

Other aspirants who contested in the primary election  were Leloonu Nwibubasa with 1, 476,

Allen Ezekiel Hart scored 268 votes, while Henry Ogbonna scored 546.
