FG inaugurates three completed roads in Kaduna

The Federal Ministry of Works, has inaugurated three completed road projects under the emergency intervention scheme in Kaduna State, North West.

Speaking at the inauguration on Monday, the Federal Controller of Works in the State, Mr. Ulagu Loveday, said the projects are in line with President Bola Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda.

He said the roads span rehabilitation of the Sabi Rail Bridge–Command Junction section of the Western Bypass in Chukun Local Government Area, a 1.2-kilometre Mahuta NNPC Pipeline to Nigerian Army Post Service Housing road, and 4.5-kilometre Taban Sani road in Markarfi Local Government.

The Federal Controller of Works, Loveday said the roads awarded as part of the federal government emergency special intervention are also part of the government’s 260 emergency and ecological road projects nationwide.

The highway was commissioned by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement, North-West, Abdullahi Yankasai.

He said the project reflects the administration’s commitment to grassroots development.

“On behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I hereby commission this 4.5-kilometre road for the use of humanity. This project was conceptualised by this administration and today it has come to fruition,” he said.

The Chairman of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Kaduna branch, Mr.Arege Bawa, praised the quality of work and the engagement of local contractors.

“As an engineer, I can confirm that this is quality work. I commend the Minister of Works, David Umahi, for engaging local contractors. This project has brought smiles and hope to the people,” he said.

On his part, the Chief Resident Engineer in the state, Sadique Maccido, noted that due to funding limitations, the ministry adopted targeted rehabilitation methods including pothole patching, overlays, crack sealing and shoulder reclamation to stabilise the corridor.
