A total of 300 unemployed graduates selected from communities in Aninri, Awgu and Oji River local government areas of Enugu state, collectively known as Greater Awgu, will undergo a three-month technology development training, from August, 2025.
The training, which is being packaged by the Federal Ministry of Information and Digital Economy through Digital Bridge Institute Enugu and SBTS Group, is meant to enhance the capacity of the trainees on Information,Communication and Technology (ICT) skills.
The Director General, All Progressives Youths and Students Council, Dr Ezenwa A.Onyirimba while briefing newsmen in Enugu, said he attracted the project as his own contribution of boosting human empowerment to indigenes of Greater Awgu.
He said he has also paid the compulsory registration fee of N5,000 for every person who will be involved in the training.
Dr Onyirimba revealed that candidates who were able to imbibe the ICT techniques during the training, stands a chance of gaining automatic employment from the Federal government at the end of the training.
According to him, the candidates will be provided with a Laptop after the training.
He said the candidates will be receiving a monthly stipend from the federal government within the period of training.
In addition, the trainees will also be provided with free data subscription,feeding and transport allowance throughout the period of the training.
He stated, “I attracted the training of 300 unemployed graduates from Greater Awgu on Tech Development as a measure of increasing our human resource base.
“The candidates will benefit laptop, Monthly stipend throughout the period of the training,free data subscription, transport allowance and feeding throughout the period of the training.
“They will be employed immediately after the training. .All we want from them is dedication..
He expressed gratitude to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu for his administration’s effort in empowering unemployed Nigerian graduates through such laudable Initiatives.
Recall that a fortnight ago,Dr Onyirimba supervised the sharing of fertilizers and other farm tools to selected farmers in Greater Awgu communities which he also attracted, stating it is part of Federal government’s incentives to ginger rural farmers in maximising food production this planting season.
