The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) Mortgage Bank Limited said it has so far secured approval of N27 billion on behalf of 3,427 eligible Nigerians who are contributors to the scheme to own houses across the 36 states, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Managing Director of the bank, Dr Hayatuddeen Awwal, disclosed this during the inauguration of the new head office at Gwarimpa in Abuja, on Tuesday.
He said the feet was recorded through the National Housing Fund (NHF), adding that over 6,000 Nigerians within 24 months of its commencement were able to access mortgages the PENCOM RSA window.
Awwal explained that collaboration with the Family Homes Funds (FHF), the bank also assisted some Nigerians to own houses across the six geo-political zones.
The MD said the bank’s income lines have expanded beyond traditional mortgage financing to include construction finance, partnerships with housing developers, and others.
In his remarks, the Managing Director/ Chief Executive officer Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Oyetunde Ojo said the agency would continue to execute projects that will have desired impact on Nigerians.
He said there was the need to complete projects that are ongoing, promising to extend the plan nationwide.
“We are justifying Tinubu’s confidence in us, we will ensure that all projects under the agency are completed.
“No need to abandon projects that will have direct impact on people. Since we came on board we have been doing our best to make the staff happy, if the staff are not happy there won’t be positive results” Ojo said.
