“Literally such a sweet little girl… God comfort her mama Laura Juma,” he wrote. He also shared a video of himself joyfully picking Alicia up from school in the past, both beaming with wide smiles.

Alicia’s mother, Laura penned emotional tributes to her daughter, describing her as her best friend.

She revealed that Alicia had battled illness with incredible courage before her passing.

“My best friend. You could have kept fighting, we were almost there… It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved grade six learner, Alicia Atieno. Alicia faced her illness with remarkable strength and courage, touching the lives of many around her,” Laura wrote. The grieving mother’s post further celebrated her daughter’s passions and achievements, sharing that Alicia was her school’s environmental secretary, an art lover, and a crochet enthusiast who often spent her free time crocheting in class.

Laura’s video also highlighted Alicia’s vibrant spirit, showing her engaged in environmental conservation activities and even cooking chapatis with schoolmates.
