The former player of Arsenal Football Club, Mesut Ozil has announced his retirement from the beautiful game of football.

Mesut OzilThe German made the announcement on his official Twitter account on Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023. He thanked everyone who has stood by his side from the beginning of his career for the past 17 years.

I want to thank Schalke, Werder, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Fenerbahçe and Basaksehir, all my friends in football. It was an amazing journey. Thank you to all ny fans who have shown my love. No matter the circumstances and no matter which club I represented.

Ozil will be remembered by football fans for the fantastic assists that he was able to create when he was playing top-flight football. He is the only player in history who tops the chart with the most assists in the Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, Champions League, Europa League, Euro Cup, and World Cup.
