Despite Jon Jones now holding the belt, Francis Ngannou still considers himself the UFC ‘heavyweight king’.
Jones became UFC heavyweight champion on Saturday night after quickly tapping out Ciryl Gane at UFC 285.

And he was subsequently crowned UFC heavyweight champion
This was Jones’ first fight in three years, but he looked as sharp as ever and after the clash he called out former two-time heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.
With that being said, the fight that fans really want to see is against former heavyweight champion, Ngannou.
“Good job Jonny Boy,” Ngannou tweeted after watching Jones’ victory.
He then signed off by saying: “Sincerely, The heavyweight king.”
Jones did not take kindly to this, as he reacted to Ngannou’s tweet in his post-fight press conference, as he said: “Francis is a big old p****.
Before adding with a smile: “I love that quote, all that muscle with a big a** p****.”

With Ngannou having recently parted ways with the UFC following a drawn out contract dispute, it seems unlikely a clash with Jones will happen anytime soon.
UFC president, Dana White, was asked if it was a possibility in the post-fight press conference and he replied: “I tried to make that fight, it’s done, never going to happen.
“We tried to make that fight with him for three years. You’ve got to want that fight.
“We all want to see a fight, but the guys got to want the fight. Francis doesn’t want the fight and I can’t make him fight.”
Meanwhile, Ngannou seems more interested in trying his hand at boxing, having called out both Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua as his ideal first opponents.
