Friends Were Worried I Might Take Their Husbands

In a Facebook post on Sunday, September 7, Oge recalled how she lost millions of naira in a bid to get justice, adding that friends and people she ran to for help, “cheated her.”

Oge Ojukwu, a Nigerian woman, has shared her experience of divorcing at 24, describing it as both traumatic and eye-opening.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, September 7, Oge recalled how she lost millions of naira in a bid to get justice, adding that friends and people she ran to for help, “cheated her.”

 

According to her, friends she thought liked her were worried she might take their husbands. 

 

“Yesterday I made a post about May Edochie admonishing her for not doing due diligence about Emeka Ugwuonye before hiring him. I later took down the post for a reason,” she wrote. 

 

“I remembered the early time after my divorce. I was just 24 and divorced. Lost my dad same year. I married early so I didn’t have much knowledge of how the outside life worked. 

 

“I was also cheated by friends and those I ran to for help. I remember spending millions trying to get justice only to loose everything and one of the men who was on my case advised to go and take care of my kids myself. 

 

“It was after losing everything that he even told me I should have filed everything in Lagos. That I would have gotten justice in Lagos, he told me that our people in the East don’t take divorced women seriously.

 

“Even friends you thought liked you were low key worried you might take their husbands. So I also cut them off to help their insecurities.
