A group, Peace Movement Zamfara chapter, has strongly condemned those calling for the removal of the Minister of State for defence, Bello Matawallen Maradun, describing it as senseless.
The chairman of the group, comrade Garba Sarki made this known to our correspondent in an interview in Gusau, capital of the State during the weekend.
He said it is high time now for the people to concentrate on what is good for the nation than to embark on an unnecessary business that will not augur well for the entire country.
The chairman also explained that those calling for that are enemies of peace, and that people and even Mr President should ignore them as they do not wish the nation well. “What we were made to understand is that all those involved in such business were sponsored by certain group, government or individual just for selfishness, because at this very crucial time when not only Zamfara but entire nation, needs nothing than unity as well as support for the government to be able to address the insecurity problem bedevilling the country, but some undesirables are there trying to destabilize the whole issue, this is unac ceptable” comrade Sarki emphasized.
According to the chairman, there is need for those type of people to think twice, adding that, “specifically, Matawallen as a minister of State for defence has, and still is playing a vital role as far as fighting the bandits is concerned, and people should not forget the political role he played during the 2023 election when he served as the campaign coordinator of Mr President moving up and down to cover three States, and successfully delivered, where were all those calling for his removal”, he asked.
Speaking further, Garba explained that whoever is involved in such call should instead, create, or contribute his or her quota in what will help the government to succeed in its quest toward addressing the issue of insecurity in the country not to be bringing something that can only bring chaos thereby sabotaging the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is all out to rid the nation of the bad eggs.
