Gunmen kidnap Seriki Fulani, injure 1 other

Gunmen have kidnapped one Mohammed Jubril, 30, from a Fulani settlement in the Odo-Otin Local Government Area, Osun state.

SP Yemisi Opalola, Osun Police Spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Osogbo.

“At about 7.00 a.m. on Wednesday, one Seriki Fulani, Mohammed Kajibo, reported that gunmen, numbering about eight, attacked Ago Igbira, a Fulani settlement in Osun.

“Kajibo stated that the attackers operated between 11 p.m., on Tuesday and 12 a.m. of Wednesday, where they later kidnapped one Mohammed Jubril ‘m’ aged 30 and injured one Hassan Jubril during their shoot out.”

Police, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Taskforce (CJT), swung into action and visited the scene immediately after the incident was reported, according to the police spokesperson.

She stated that police recovered three spent AK47 rifle shells and cartridges from the scene.

She did say that police and CJT teams were combing the bushes to find the victim and arrest the perpetrators.
