Hilda Baci’s world record cook-a-thon kicks off May 11

Talented TV producer, actress and foodpreneur, Hilda Baci has set a new date for her highly anticipated 4-day cook-a-thon.

The event, which is slated for Amore Gardens, Lekki, Lagos, will now hold from May 11 to 14, 2023. According to Hilda Baci, the cook-a-thon seeks to showcase her culinary skills, using various local and intercontinental recipes, to put Nigeria on the global map.

“The rescheduling became necessary due to the need to ensure efficient production delivery of the cook-a-thon and the National Population Census coming up in early May,” she noted.  

At the event, the boss of My Food by Hilda, a fast food restaurant located in Lekki, Lagos, will attempt to break the world record of 87 hours, 45 minutes and 00 seconds set by Chef Lata London in Rewa, India in 2019.

Hilda Baci and her team have designed over 100 recipes to be served at the event, which is open to the public through registration. But then, she reiterated the essence of the cook-a-thon as an inspirational platform for young people. 

“The goal of the cook-a-thon is to inspire young girls about the possibility of achieving their dreams. This is why I am setting an example with this attempt.

The victory of the cook-a-thon is a win for young women across the continent, in breaking barriers and the capacity to impact,” she said. 

Hilda Baci has showcased her cooking skills on various television cook shows, and represented Nigeria at the Jollof Faceoff competition in 2021, emerging winner. The Guinness World Record attempt is her latest feat. The event will have sideline activities including games, music performances, poetry, and celebrity appearances.
