‘I don’t watch football’ – Arsenal star Ben White’s brilliant response to why he didn’t see Man City beat Liverpool

Ben White gave an incredibly honest reason why he missed the Man City vs Liverpool game… because he doesn’t like watching football.

The Arsenal defender is famously not a huge football fan, being one of those rare professionals who largely see it as merely a job.

White admitted to not watching Man City’s win over Liverpool

With the Gunners embroiled in a title fight with Man City, all eyes were on Saturday’s blockbuster Premier League action.

Man City thrashed Liverpool 4-1 in the early kick-off to put pressure on the north London side.

Arsenal fans may have thought their luck was in after Mohamed Salah put the visitors to the Etihad ahead.

City ran riot, though, as Julian Alvarez, Kevin de Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish got on the scoresheet.

It was over to the Gunners at 3pm as they faced Leeds, and ended up making light work of them by also winning 4-1.

Gabriel Jesus netted twice with White and Granit Xhaka rounding off the goals.

Arsenal would no doubt have been aware of the result, but the defender was not paying much attention.

“I don’t watch football so I was just focused on the game today and that was it,” White said.

“There’s a lot of noise going on outside, and everyone is just keeping it very quiet and just getting on with what we are doing.

“I don’t really know what’s right or wrong, I have never been in this position [competing in a title race] before. So, we are just keeping quiet, heads down and working hard.”
