INEC Commences Upload of FCT Council Election Results to IReV

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the upload of results from Saturday’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections to its Results Viewing (IReV) portal.

This upload comes after hours of delay, which had led to concerns about possible manipulation of the results.

Checks by our correspondent as of 9:00 p.m. indicated that polling unit results from across the six Area Councils in the FCT were gradually being uploaded to the portal, hours after voting concluded.

As of the time of filing this report, uploads for the Kwali Area Council chairmanship election had reached 56.72 per cent completion, while 65.68 per cent of results for the Gwagwalada chairmanship contest had been uploaded.

In addition to the FCT councillorship and chairmanship results, INEC is also uploading results from bye-elections conducted in Kano and Rivers states to the IReV portal.
