Iyabo Ojo Calls On Mothers As She Stresses On The Significance Of Purposeful Parenting

Nigerian actress, Iyabo Ojo has shared some wise advise with mothers and women about their children.

Speaking during her daughter Priscilla’s baby shower held over the weekend in Canada, the mother of two emphasised the significance of purposeful parenting and affirming positive declarations.

According to her, women must begin to prophesy good things into their children’s lives. The actress advised mothers to break free from the notion that negative patterns from their past will inevitably impact on their children.

Explaining further, she cautioned women not to believe that because a certain negative occurrence happened to their mothers, it happened to them, then it must happen to their children.

She encouraged women to leverage faith and positive affirmations to be able to shatter negative cycles and create a better future, highlighting the significance of recognising and overcoming ancestral curses.

“We women must begin to prophesy good things into the lives of our children. Don’t have the belief that because a certain thing happened to your mum, it happened to you, and it must happen to your children. Break it. There is something called the Ancestral curse. You must break and stop it.”

The movie star continued:

“Sometimes you need to sacrifice so much for your children, you have to think, for me to be here today, to have this baby I made that decision and whatever comes out of it, good or bad, it is not a burden for my children to carry and I will never deprive my children of their blessings.

“When mothers carry the pain and struggle and you extend it to your children you deprive them of certain things, there is something called ancestral curses, you cannot break it if you are leading it. For you to break you must stop it and you must end it.”

During the baby shower, Iyabo showered Priscilla prayers, declaring that her marriage would work even though hers didn’t. Iyabo said she had paid the price for Priscilla to have a happy and long-lasting home.

Iyabo Ojo was once married to the father of her two kids, Mr. Ademidun Ojo. Unfortunately, the marriage packed up shortly after the birth of their two children.

Speaking on it, Iyabo in a podcast interview revealed that she experienced poverty for the first time when she married her now ex-husband. She described the experience with her ex as an adventure for her, as she was craving attention, which he gave her.

In an interview with Seun Oloketuyi in March, the single mum stated that she feels like what her children are reaping now is because of her good deeds. The proud mother further stated that when parents have kids early, it makes them feel young, as she noted how nobody wants to grow old.
