Jennifer Garner is known for dressing in a very conservative way with business suits and skin-covering dresses.
But in recent months the 53-year-old The Last Thing He Told Me actress seems to have been putting less fabric on her toned figure and her fans have noticed.
They have even accused her of ‘sexing up her image’ and ‘going Hollywood again’.
In one case, the ex-wife of Ben Affleck slipped into a semi sheer gown; at the Golden Globe awards on Sunday her chest could be seen through her black sleeveless dress.
And the Hollywood stalwart wore nothing under her sheer trench coat for Marie Claire UK last week. Inside the issue, she flashed her tummy and butt in skimpy attire.
Now the Daily Mail has learned the reason for the sudden sartorial switch up. ‘Jennifer wants more high-profile film roles, she loves to work, so she figures dressing a little sexier and showing the world she still looks hot certainly can’t hurt,’ the insider told the Daily Mail.
And it suits her.
‘She feels it is a low-risk move: she can look more fetching with sexier choices proving she is still a movie star while still making it appear tasteful,’ said the pal.
And the insider also said that she has a FOMO vibe to her these days: ‘If her idols Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Hudson are wearing next-to-nothing and looking great in these get-ups, maybe she should do it too,’ added the insider. ‘That is the thinking. Why not? She has the body for it.’
It’s not as if she has never dressed sexy before: on Alias (2001 – 2006) she wore lingerie and bikinis often.
The insider also thinks her best friend, Judy Greer from 13 Going On 30, may have egged her on: ‘Judy is always pushing Jen to live it up more, you know, get out of the garden and into a LBD.’
Also last year, Garner slipped back into pleather to play Electra for Deadpool Vs Wolverine proving she was game for flashing her toned body she gets from daily gym workouts and boxing sessions.
She looked as great as she did decades ago when she played the same character opposite Ben Affleck in Daredevil.
In the past few years the beauty has been known to look comfortable in sweatshirts, jeans and UGGs.
In 2019 Garner told People she prefers to dress down.
‘Every time I’m leaving town, I take all the clothes I never wear because you look through your closet and you think, “I love this. Why don’t I wear this? It’s such a pretty dress,”‘ she told the outlet.
‘But in reality, when I get there, I look for jeans and my sneakers. And I don’t know why I try to pretend like I’m suddenly going to be Dress Girl, because I’m not unless I’m put in it.’
Her no-fuss attitude also extends to her hair and makeup.
‘I work out pretty hard so I almost wash it every day,’ said Garner. ‘But I don’t like blow it out. I walk around with wet hair. But I just feel like, “I’ve showered! Don’t I get a gold star? What more do you want from me?”‘
Garner’s new look comes after she has helped her ex Affleck get over his painful divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
She even spent Thanksgiving with him.
The Argo actor and his mother joined Garner – with whom Ben shares three children Violet, 20, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13 – for the holiday at her house in Los Angeles.
A source told PEOPLE: ‘Just like last year, Jen hosted Thanksgiving at her house. Ben and his mom joined.
‘Jen makes it very special. She’s such a great chef. She loves having her whole family together too. Ben’s always welcome at her house.
‘They get along and really support each other. Ben’s doing well and staying focused on work, his health and his kids.
‘Jen’s his biggest cheerleader. It took them years to get to this point, but Jen never gave up on him. And it’s all friendly and about the kids now.’
And, Jennifer’s boyfriend John Miller is supportive of the friendship.
The insider said: ‘He’s been incredibly patient and understanding of her family focus. He’s a great guy and treats Jen very well. She loves dating him.’
Speaking previously about his relationship with Jennifer, 53, Ben said: ‘I could not be more proud of my children. I can’t even tell you. [Violet] takes after her mom. She’s spectacular.
‘And I’m very lucky that I’ve got a great partner and that we got great kids. It’s the joy of my life and I’m just very, very lucky. And it makes me happy every day.’
And they also spent Christmas together.
