Jesse Metcalfe on the skincare and supplements that got him in the ‘best shape’ of his life at 47

Jesse Metcalfe on the skincare and supplements that got him in the ‘best shape’ of his life at 47

John Tucker‘s skincare routine is to die for.

While Jesse Metcalfe is now the founder of Nutrl Skin — and gets asked “all the time” about his beauty secrets — he didn’t always have such a flawless complexion.

“When you’re struggling with acne, I mean, there’s literally nothing worse. It really erodes your self-confidence,” the star tells Page Six Style, saying he often battled breakouts as a teenager (and again in his twenties, when he got his start in the entertainment industry).

Through that journey, Metcalfe gleaned “a lot of knowledge about skincare,” inspiring him to launch a gender-neutral line free of silicones, parabens and fragrances (and that’s won stamps of approval from fellow famous folks like Michael Strahan and Tamron Hall).

“I think people use a lot of these buzzwords … and they’re basically lying to the consumer,” says Metcalfe. “And that’s why I developed this line — because I wanted something that was simple but effective.” Brian Zak/Page Six

Skincare isn’t the only part of his wellness routine he’s perfected, however; Metcalfe says he’s in the “best shape of [his] life” at 47.

“It’s a lot of pressure,” he adds of Hollywood’s beauty standards. “Not only just keeping your skin clear and fresh and trying to look youthful, but also staying in shape.”

After all, the star’s been in the spotlight since the early 2000s, when he shot to fame in “John Tucker Must Die” — a cult-classic film that just might get a sequel someday.

“There is a script, and it’s over at 20th Century [Studios],” Metcalfe tells us. “I’ve read [it] and I think it’s pretty good, but [it] hasn’t really gotten over the finish line just yet.”

While we wait with bated breath for a potential second movie, shop Metcalfe’s ultimate favorite things below, from skincare to the sneakers he has in practically every color.

Spoiled Child E27 Extra Strength Liquid Collagen

Spoiled Child

“I really love this supplement; I drink it every single day. I love the idea of collagen working from the inside out, along with a topical that promotes collagen production. Obviously great for your hair, skin and nails.”

Byredo Mojave Ghost Eau de Parfum

Bloomingdale’s

“It’s a unisex fragrance that my girlfriend and I share, and it is so incredible smelling. There’s just something about it. I literally wear it like almost every day.”

MCM Ottomar Weekender Bag

MCM

“I don’t go anywhere without the MCM Weekender bag. I’m taking all these trips to New York to do all these editor meetings promoting Nutrl Skin. And my favorite carry-on is this bag in cognac. It also matches the interior of my Porsche.”

Nutrl Skin Anti-Aging Under Eye Serum

Nutrl

“There’s two peptide complexes in the anti-aging under-eye serum, [including] argireline, which relaxes muscle tension in the face. And you can actually feel that working as soon as you put it on your under-eyes. There’s a lot of products that tighten the under-eyes, but some of those products tighten your under-eyes too much, and it’s almost uncomfortable. This is a little more subtle. We also have another peptide complex called Matrixyl 3000, which is a cell-signaling peptide. It signals the fibroblast cells in your skin to naturally produce more collagen.”

Kith for Calvin Klein Classic Boxer Brief

Kith

“I love Kith as a brand, and I really love their their underwear. They did a collab with Calvin Klein, and I think [it’s] great. It’s just an incredible brand. Super high quality.”
