JUST IN: FG takes action as train crushes BRT Bus in Lagos

Hadi Sirika, the minister of aviation, on Thursday, revealed that personnel of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) have been instructed “to move quickly” to probe the fatal rail accident that happened in Lagos on Monday.

POLITICS NIGERIA had reported how two people died and several others were seriously injured when a train rammed into a Bus rapid transit (BRT) conveying Lagos state civil servants this morning.

Witnesses at the scene said the bus was attempting to cross the rail track when an oncoming train rammed into it.

The train reportedly dragged the bus from Shogunle to the PWD area of Ikeja.

My heart goes out to those who lost their lives in today’s train crash & those who got injured as well as Government & people of Lagos. Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau experts have been directed to move quickly. We solicit public cooperation as investigation commences, pls🇳🇬

Reacting to the incident, the Minister wrote on his official Twitter handle: “My heart goes out to those who lost their lives in today’s train crash & those who got injured as well as Government and people of Lagos.

“Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau experts have been directed to move quickly. We solicit public cooperation as investigation commences, please.”
