JUST IN: We’re Ready for Action in Nigeria – U.S. Defense Chief alerts Trump

The United States has issued a direct warning over rising attacks on Christians in Nigeria.

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth declared that Washington is prepared to take military action against terrorists operating in the country, saying America is “ready for action.”

Hegseth made the remarks in response to former U.S. President Donald Trump, who raised alarm over religious violence in Nigeria.

Trump had earlier warned that continuous killings of Christians would attract international consequences.

Reacting on X, Hegseth supported Trump and delivered a firm message.
He said, “Yes sir. The killing of innocent Christians in Nigeria — and anywhere — must end immediately. The Department of War is preparing for action. Either the Nigerian Government protects Christians, or we will kill the Islamic terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.”

Trump recently listed Nigeria as a “country of particular concern.” He accused the Nigerian government of failing to safeguard religious minorities and allowing faith-based attacks to continue.

The Nigerian government has consistently rejected claims of targeted persecution.

Officials insist that insecurity affects citizens of all beliefs and that the nation’s security agencies are actively combating terrorism and banditry.
