KANFEST 2025 Will Put Kano On Global Cultural Map, Says Deputy Gov

KANO – Kano State Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam on Friday evening said the state Government remains dedicated to safeguarding and showcasing its vibrant cultural legacy, ensuring that the state’s traditions and values continue to inspire and enrich future generations.

The maiden edition of KANFEST (Kalankuwa), a grand festival celebrating arts and culture, is scheduled to hold from October 25th to 27th, 2025.

Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo who briefed newsmen in his office on the preparedness of the state to host Kano Festival (KANFEST) 2025, stated that the festival aims to revive and reignite Kano’s cultural identity.

Aminu Abdussalam said the festival would further connect younger generations with the past, while showcasing the state’s heritage to people within and outside Nigeria.

Abdussalam explained that the Kano State Government recognizes culture not merely as a form of entertainment but as a driver of economic growth, social development, and peacebuilding.

He stressed that the festival was organized to rediscover the traditions, creativity, and craftsmanship that have distinguished Kano for centuries, describing the state as “a beacon of civilization and scholarship.”

The Kano number 2 citizen said Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration committed to creating job and investment opportunities through cultural promotion, with the ultimate goal of positioning Kano as a global cultural destination.

Abdussalam assured that adequate arrangements have been put in place within and around the festival venues to ensure a peaceful and successful event.
