The transition committee put in place by Kano governor-elect, Abba Yusuf, has summoned all permanent secretaries and head of agencies in the state to a crucial interaction session.
Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Gubernatorial Transition Committee (GTC), Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, made this known while addressing a press conference on Friday in Kano.
Bichi, who is a former Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), said the move to summon the permanent secretaries and heads of agencies / parastatals was necessitated by alleged refusal of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje to cooperate with the GTC to ensure seamless transfer of power.

He said : “As part of our measures to save time and side-step the roadblocks and landmines that Gov. Ganduje is putting all over in order to sabotage and undermine the transfer of power, we wish to announce the following measures that GTC is taking, effective from Monday May 01, 2023.
“Interaction with All Permanent Secretaries
Given the outright refusal of Gov. Ganduje to inaugurate his transition committee and their inability to meet with our committee to agree on modalities for the transition process, we are compelled by circumstances to, on behalf of the incoming administration of His Excellency Engr. Abba
Kabir Yusuf to invite all Permanent Secretaries in the civil service to attend an interaction with the GTC.
“The interaction is slated for Tuesday May 02, 2023 by 10am at the GTC Secretariat.
” Interaction with Chief Executives of Agencies and Parastatals.
“After the interaction with PermSecs, Subcommittees will commence the interaction with chief executives and heads of agencies and parastatals.
” Date, time and venue will be conveyed to all agencies and parastatals.
“Interaction with Directors of Personnel Management (DPM)
We would also sought for some clarifications from the DPMs of all the 44 Local Government Councils. Date, time and venue will be conveyed to all DPMs.
” The objective of the interaction is to achieve what we ought to have achieved with the government team if they had acceded to our request of meeting with them since April 03.
” We wish to assure the good people of Kano State that, by the Special Grace Allah, we would continue to work systematically and decisively to ensure smooth and peaceful transfer of power in the State.
” Planning for the inauguration of HE Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf on May 29, 2023 had already commenced in earnest.”
PlatinumPost recalls that the 2023 Kano gubernatorial election was conducted on March 18 with Yusuf of the NNPP declared winner on March 20 with a score of 1,019,700 votes.
