KENYA: Attorney General’s office names Kenyans shortlisted for jobs, sets interviews for November

Vacancies at office of the Attorney General According to official data, the three advertised roles, Accountant II, Public Communication Officer II, and Clerical Officer II, attracted a total of 10,173 applications, out of which 223 candidates have been shortlisted.

The Accountant II position drew the highest competition, with 3,617 applicants fighting for only 10 slots.

The Clerical Officer II post recorded the highest number of applications at 5,890, with only 113 progressing to the interview stage.

The Public Communication Officer II role received 666 applications, and 19 were shortlisted.

When will the interview take place? OAG & DOJ confirmed that interviews for the shortlisted candidates will run from November 25 to December 4, 2025.

Applicants are required to check the State Law Office website for their interview dates, venues, and the documents they must present.

Those who applied can check the full list of the shortlisted candidates on the OAG website.

The statement also invited members of the public to submit confidential information regarding any shortlisted candidate before November 25, an accountability measure aimed at ensuring only individuals of integrity join the institution.

Makokha advised shortlisted candidates to ensure they have researched the typical pay for the positions they will be interviewing for and be ready with a salary range that reflects the market trends.

“Back up your range with reasons that justify your value, such as your experience, skills, or achievements. Always end with a statement like, ‘I am open to discussion’, to indicate willingness to negotiate and keep the conversation open,” Makokha said. Open job opportunities for Kenyans In other news, the Public Service Commission (PSC) announced 86 job vacancies for Kenyan professionals under the State Department for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs.

PSC invited applications for positions, including Director, Deputy Director, and Assistant Director in the foreign service, before the deadline on November 18, 2025.

The commission reiterated that no fees are charged for applications and warned against fraudsters soliciting bribes, emphasising that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.

Additionally, the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) has invited applications from professionals to fill several vacant positions.

These include senior planning officer, ICT developer, planning officer, and two maritime labour officer posts, requiring relevant bachelor’s degrees and experience.

Applicants must submit academic, professional, and compliance certificates by 5pm on Monday, December 1, 2025.

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has also opened applications for its January to March 2026 Industrial Attachment Programme.

KRA is targeting Kenyan undergraduate and diploma students below 35 years old in their third, fourth, or final year.

Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of KSh 7,000, and applications must be submitted online via KRA’s e-recruitment portal by Monday, November 24, 2025,
