Earlier, a section of ODM party leaders cautioned Gachagua against visiting Raila’s grave following controversial remarks by Nyeri governor Mutahi Kahiga.

During the Ngema Feast in Murang’a on Saturday, November 1, Wiper Patriotic Front party leader Kalonzo Musyoka announced that the opposition team will visit Raila’s home on Thursday, November 6.

The former vice president rallied opposition supporters to accompany them in paying their respects to the late former prime minister.

In his speech, Kalonzo took a jibe at President William Ruto, saying the head of state and his allies have no moral authority to mourn Raila.

Kalonzo stated that their visit to the former prime minister’s home will provide a platform to celebrate culture among different communities.

“Those of you who are able, let us go to Bondo next Thursday in a style like no other. There is no way William Ruto and his ilk can pretend to mourn Raila Amolo Odinga, absolutely no way. Those of us who believe that we have a true inheritance in Constitution 2010, let us go to Bondo. People are donating cows and goats, let’s go and celebrate our culture, joined by our brothers and sisters from the lake,” Kalonzo said. Why did Gachagua’s allies visit Oburu Oginga? In related development, former deputy president’s close allies paid a courtesy call to acting Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Oburu Oginga.

On Wednesday, October 29, Kiambu senator Karungo wa Thang’wa and his Nyandarua counterpart, John Methu, visited Oburu’s home.

In a post on Facebook, Karungo disclosed that they went to pay their respects to the family following Raila’s death.

He noted that they used the visit to comfort Oburu as he steps into the leadership gap left behind by the former prime minister.
