Why was Ian Watkins arrested? Watkins, 48, was jailed in December 2013 over defilement-related issues, BBC reports.
The police and medics hurried to the prison, but the singer couldn’t be saved.
Watkins is the most high-profile inmate to be killed in a UK jail in living memory.
The singer, who had narrowly survived previous assaults by inmates, died from blood loss after having his jugular slashed.
Reportedly, only one of the arrested attackers is said to have used the weapon.
How was Ian Watkins killed? A source told journalists that Watkins had been killed in the most brutal way possible – and the attack was shocking, even by prison standards.
“He was targeted by another inmate who shanked him in the neck. Guards were nearby and raced to the scene pretty quickly, but there was nothing they could do, and they could not save him,” the source revealed. The source went on to say:
“It was a horrific scene, with blood everywhere and alarms and sirens going off. Police and ambulances were called, and the whole prison was locked down with all cons confined to their cells.” Source: TUKO.co.ke
