Source: Youtube Jimmy Anaro, a student at Gatamaiyu High School in Lari constituency, passed away shortly after falling ill at school.

What happened to Jimmy Anaro? The young student reportedly complained of chest pains early in the morning but was not allowed to leave the school compound for medical attention.

When his condition worsened, his classmates took him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.

His grieving mother, Christine Nyangweso, has raised concerns about whether her son received adequate medical care at the school when he initially complained of feeling unwell, and whether any emergency measures were taken to try to save his life.

Source: Youtube Nyangweso explained that she was contacted by the school principal only after her son had already been taken to the hospital. She voiced her worry over the delay in medical care and the lack of an on-site clinic.

“The teacher didn’t say much; he just casually mentioned that Jimmy had a heart condition. As far as I know, my son has never had any heart problems,” she stated, her voice trembling with disbelief. The school has yet to issue an official statement on the matter, even as police in Lari have begun investigating the incident.

Deputy County Commissioner Erick Mogaka said the investigation team will work closely with the school’s management, the Ministry of Education, and the family to ensure a thorough post-mortem is conducted to determine the cause of the young student’s death.

Jimmy’s body was transferred to General Kago Funeral Home for preservation.
