Salome Wangeci was brought up in Eldoret, but her family sadly had to move following election violence that rocked the area in 2007 The family moved to Thika, and while there, she planned to leave for the UK in search of greener pastures While on a trip to Mombasa with her entire family, she told TUKO.co.ke how her mother and brother are overseeing the construction of her KSh 3 million bungalow Mombasa Kenya: Salome Wangeci, a woman from Thika in Kiambu county, has finally kept the promise she made to herself, which was never to pay rent again.

Speaking to TUKO. co.ke, Salome said she left the country with KSh 50,000 for the unknown in the UK to look for greener pastures.
“When I was on the plane, I promised myself that the day I return to the country, I don’t want to be renting. With high bills in UK I minimised my spending; my two major goals were to bring my family of two boys and a husband to join me and to build a house back home,” she said. “I never bought a car for the first 1 year, and my family joined me after nine months; I kept the focus by working more hours and started building. Source: UGC How much has the Mombasa bungalow taken? So far, the house is three-quarters done… and Salome said that sometimes the long working hours leave her body aching, and she gets backache. When she saw the house, she was so happy with working hard.
“I have only one brother but he has been holding me up, sacrificing to be my manager in.the building taking days off from his work to supervised my work.” The cost of the three-bedroom house as it stands is nowat KSh 3 million because she also had to buy land.
I would like to motivate anyone who relocates to never lose the focus, and to anyone seeking jobs abroad to change their story back home,” she said. How did Salome treat her parents? Apart from building herself a house, the young woman also treated her parents to their first-ever flights, and they went on holiday in Mombasa, and the rest of the family joined them.
“We are still in Mombasa. I will be travelling back to the UK early next month. My mother is still enjoying sand, so are my father and siblings,” she said. The singer gifted her parents the house as a token of appreciation for their sacrifice and affection over the years.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Viola shared that the journey has not been easy but she was glad every effort led to a lovely gesture to her folks.
