How old is Kwamboka’s second daughter? The accident shocked residents and left her family in anguish.

Teresa Moraa, Kwamboka’s aunt, is appealing for justice for her niece, who died at a tender age.

“The driver first ran over Kwamboka, stepping on her leg. She was heading to work in town where she had been employed as a waitress. She had just dropped her four-year-old girl off at school and was carrying her eight-month-old daughter on her back.

How was Kwamboka run over in Kisii? As she walked beside the road, the reckless driver stepped on her leg. She fell and cried for help. A Good Samaritan yelled at the driver, telling him he had hit my niece.

The driver stopped, then reversed, this time running over her and killing her,” Moraa stated.

The driver sped off, but some young men tried to chase and stop him. Unfortunately, he managed to escape the furious mob that wanted to apprehend him.

“There was a lady who knew my sister. She phoned us and informed us of what had happened. She was also the one who took my niece’s daughter as Moraa’s body was taken to the morgue,” Moraa added.

“It has not been easy for her. Since the death of her parents, she has been forced to fend for herself. She only went to school until Grade 8. She became a mum as a teenager and later had another daughter. She was a single mum. Now the kids have no father and no mother,” Moraa shared. Moraa left with Kwamboka’s two kids Moraa and her family have now been left to care for the little ones, who have no idea what happened to their mother.

She called upon the police to investigate and arrest the driver, who she claimed had been accused of similar cases.

“He has three other cases in court concerning the same ‘mistake’ of running over pedestrians. We are also appealing to Kenyans to help us in any way they can. Whatever little they can give, we will greatly appreciate,” she said. Kisii woman Damaris Kwamboka who was ran over wheil going to work. Photo: Teresa Moraa.
