Source: UGC How did Atieno’s husband die? The beautiful, modern house represents a new beginning and restored dignity for Atieno and her family after enduring harsh and dehumanising living conditions.

Villagers turned up in large numbers at her home to celebrate the heartwarming milestone as she settled in with her children.

“Atieno lost her husband in a grisly road accident and has been the sole breadwinner for her family since then. The responsibility of caring for her children, ensuring they attend school and have their basic needs met, has been heavy on her shoulders. However, a widows’ group has been of great help. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to PS Omollo for his continued commitment to uplifting vulnerable families through such impactful initiatives. His support is transforming lives on the ground and bringing real change to communities in Seme and beyond,” the source added. She received a large, cosy bed complete with bedding and other furniture, including sofas and a wooden living room table.

The family was also gifted foodstuffs to ensure their immediate needs were catered for as they settled into their new home.

They posed happily for photos with the well-wishers, proudly showing off their new house in the background and expressing gratitude.
