Eyewitness narrates moment Mombasa Air plane crashed Speaking to Citizen TV, an eyewitness identified as Garasha Ali, stated that a huge explosion was heard in the quiet morning, causing panic.

When he arrived at the scene, he found plane parts scattered across various locations and what appeared to be body parts from the passengers aboard.

“We had an explosion. We figured that it was that plane which had caused it when it crashed. Parts of the plane were scattered in different places. Bags and pieces of meat were also scattered,” Ali said. He added that he quickly contacted the area chief and his assistant.

Ali stated that fire had completely engulfed the plane, causing huge smoke to fill the accident scene.

“We walked around the scene. We found piece of meat hanging on trees. What caused the plane crash, I am in no position to explain. He further decried the rainy weather conditions, which made the rescue operation quite challenging at that moment.

The plane reportedly crashed at 8:30 a.m., just 10 minutes after it began its journey to Kichwa Tembo

Moments before it crashed, the plane was reportedly not visible on radar at Moi International Airport in Mombasa, according to the Ministry of Transport.
