The hosts, under new manager Igor Tudor, had little to offer save for the quickfire equaliser from Randal Kolo Muani, who capitalised on a Declan Rice mistake. Tottenham had 11 first-team players out with injury.
The win took Arsenal back to five points clear of Manchester City, but they have played a game more. It was also a perfect response after they were held to a two-all draw by bottom-placed Wolves last week.

“I think the whole team, I cannot be prouder and happier for what I’ve seen out there, but especially the way we lived the last 72 hours, because I think this game in particular needed some context. And after what happened against Wolves and the manner in which we lost two points in the last kick of the game, it was tough,” said Mikel Arteta via the club’s website. As a result of the win, Opta’s supercomputer has now predicted who will win the Premier League. Arsenal’s chances have dwindled of late, but they still hold a comanding 82.33%.
Manchester City have risen in recent weeks to 16.92%, and that’s just about it with the rest of the teams below 1%
Pep Guardiola’s side beat Newcastle United 2-1 on Saturday evening to move to within two points of Arsenal before the Sunday derby.
On the opposite end, Opta has predicted that Wolves will be 100% be relegated after only collecting 10 points so far. Burnley have a 97.76% chance while West Ham have 71.66%. Tottenham, who are just four points clear of the relegation zone, have a 4.58% chance of going down.
“There is enough time. As I said, this was not a perfect team to play the first game after three or four training sessions, but in one way, we need to see something good. If I can tell this, you know, something good to see where we need to be,” said Spurs boss Tudor when he was asked if he can change the situation.” More to follow.
