HRM, Barr, Godspower Oporomo, ‘Tara-eza’ 1 of Kerebiri-mein Kingdom Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State has made a clarion call to the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori to inject life into Bomadi polytechnic project abandoned over a decade ago.
The Tara-eza also appealed to the Governor of the State to construct internal road network in Bomadi, Kpakiama, Esanma,Ogbeinma, Okoloba and Ogo-Eze Communities to open up the areas for more development.
Hrm Oporomo made these requests to celebrate his 9th Coronation anniversary at Bomadi town, headquarter of Bomadi Council area of Delta State positing that Bomadi serves as a neuclus of Ijaw nation being the headquarter of Western Ijaw division.
Speaking to hundreds of his subjects across the kingdom who graced the anniversary celebration, he thanked them for their loyalty, love and commitment for the growth of the kingdom.
Accordingly to him, they have made him their king , that is their inalienable rights lamented that their sister Kingdom Akugbene-Mein kingdom was standing as an empediment for the presentation of staff of office to him.
Oporomo further noted that the excuse by Government that his kingdomship tussle was before the law Court, “was not cogent enough, as Mr Governor have been seen presenting Staff of offices to many kingdoms with court cases,” he alledged.
He said, even at that, “any accused person before the law court is presumed innocent,” stressed that their patience was getting out of hand”.
The Kerebiri-mein monarch held that in the world over, it was the people that chooses their king, “what the government does is to honours them by recognition of presentation of staff of office, our case, the government is acting otherwise”. he said.
“We are law abiding people, but one thing remains and stands, you cannot coerce people to rule over them, it is the inalienable right of the people to choose their king”.
However, Oporomo commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the reconstruction of the Ohoror-Bomadi road, the fly-over bridges at DSC roundabout, PTI and Enerhen junction projects to ease road gridlocked issuese in those places of the State.
Oporomo further appealed to the Governor Oborevwori to step up the pace of work, the Ayakoromo bridge project and consider re-connecting by road Esanma and other Communities cut-off due to erosion that affected the Esanma-Gbaregolor bridge.
