Lagos Passionate Lions Club under district 404B2 Nigeria, expressed their service of humanity as they showed love to the people within Adeniyi Jones community . Being a month of hunger relief in the club, members of the Lagos Passionate held their event at D’Podium International Event Centre, Aromire Avenue off Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja, Lagos State, where they feed over 100 people within the community.
According to the Lions Club International, the month of December and January are months of relieving hunger to the less privileged within communities.
At the event, President of Lagos Passionate Lions Club, Lion Uche Chigozie Okeke spoke on sharing love with those who are in desperate need this season, “as we all know, December has ended, it’s back to work and many found it hard in December talk more January. Everybody knows January comes with its package of hardship and in a country where things are difficult, we decided to show some love especially to the less privileged by sharing some food items with them. We know the items are not enough but at least it will go a little way for them.”
She also spoke to those who are well privileged out there to help assist the needy:
“To those who are well privileged, I plead with you to help assist the less privileged because periods like this is when they need you. You can put smiles on their faces by being there and I can assure you that the joy of giving won’t elude you,” she said.
Also speaking at the event is the chairperson for January activity, Lion (Barr) Helen Ifeoma Mbakwe who was duly represented by Lion Ufua Eunice, she appreciated everyone that witnessed the event. “I would like to appreciate everyone who witnessed this event, especially my lion members who supported me with their presence. God will be with you. I am not leaving out my people of Adeniyi Jones Community for being so supportive, they didn’t fail us as they turned out in good numbers. This project won’t have been a success without them. We know there is no amount of food given that would be enough but putting a smile on faces of over 100 people and relieving hunger for a little while goes a long way.”
In conclusion, Mrs Osunremi Fadekemi, one of the benefactors of the project thanked Lagos Passionate Lions Club on behalf of everyone who participated at the event, “God will bless Lagos Passionate Lions Club for providing these gifts of food items, it came at the right time when December has ended and everywhere is so dry. Their is hunger in the land but this club help put smiles on our faces. It shall be well with them.”
