April 14, (THEWILL) – The World Corporate Golf Challenge is set to kick off at the picturesque Lakowe Lakes Course in Lagos, with golfers from all over the country converging for the highly anticipated event.
Lakowe Lakes Golf Manager, Femi Olagbenro, expressed his enthusiasm agreed of commencement: “Our goal is to continually keep the facility in the best shape possible, which continues to put us in a good position for golfers looking To have the best golfing experience”, he said.
Partnering with franchise holder Falcon Golf Nigeria, Olagbenro is expecting a successful show for the organisers. For players, the World Corporate Golf Challenge is a sought-after amateur franchise event, with winners representing Nigeria at the global stage. According to Olagbenro, hosting the Nigerian finals at Lakowe Course is the perfect opportunity to prepare national contenders for the global platform, minus the weather.
The tournament, which kicks off on Saturday, and will round off on Sunday, features four players representing a corporate organisation and the team with the best Stableford score over 36 holes emerging as winners. Aside from the team event, individual honours will also be rewarded in various categories, including Stableford, net, and gross.
The two-day championship will also recognise women golfers, veteran players and guests. Lakowe Lakes Golf Course, a par 72 course located in a residential estate, offers short-let facilities to golfers and other guests.
