Liverpool edged Arsenal 1-0 at Anfield thanks to a stunning late free-kick from Dominik Szoboszlai , keeping the champions perfect with three wins from three in the Premier League.
The Gunners, already without Bukayo Saka, were hit with another setback as William Saliba limped off just four minutes into the contest.
Despite that, Mikel Arteta’s side kept Liverpool at bay for long spells before Szoboszlai produced the decisive moment.
With just under 10 minutes remaining, the Hungarian midfielder unleashed a 32-yard strike from a dead ball that swerved past David Raya, handing Arne Slot’s side a much needed victory.
It was the first goal Arsenal have conceded this season, and once again telling their struggles at Anfield, where they have not tasted league victory under Arteta.
Liverpool now sit top of the table with nine points from three games.
