Lookman, Onyedika on target as Atletico, Brugge play six-goal thriller

Super Eagles duo of Ademola Lookman and Raphael Onyedika scored a goal each for their clubs Atletico Madrid and Club Brugge in the first leg of thei Champions League playoffs.

The game played in Belgium on Wednesday night saw both sides settle for a draw in a six-goal thriller that leaves much to be expected in the return leg of the tie.

Club Brugge scored a dramatic late equaliser as they twice fought back against Atletico Madrid.

The return leg takes place in Madrid next Tuesday, with the winners facing Liverpool or Tottenham in the last 16.

Elswhere, Bodo/Glimt stunned Inter Milan in their latest wonder having beaten Manchester City and Atletico Madrid in the competition last month.

Inter may be eight points clear at the top of Serie A and have been Champions League finalists in two of the last three seasons, but they were made to look ordinary by Bodo, who sealed a 3-1 win.

In another knockout playoff, Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick scored a second-half double to help his side secure a 2-0 first-leg victory over Olympiacos.

Elsewhere, Anthony Gordon scored four goals in first half as dominant Newcastle United ran riot against Qarabag, securing a 6-1 win ahead of the second leg.
