Machine Gun Kelly has blamed himself for his shock split from former fiancee Megan Fox just months before the birth of their first child together.
Fans were taken by surprise when the 35-year-old musician and the 39-year-old actress, who was then expecting, decided to part ways last November. This decision followed rumors of the actress discovering text messages with other women on the musician’s phone.
In his new album, Lost Americana, MGK has fully accepted responsibility for their breakup, stating, “I broke this home,” while also revealing he attended rehab in secret last year.
On the song “Treading Water,” he expresses, “This’ll be the last time you hear me say sorry / That’ll be the last tear you waste on me crying / I broke this home, and just like my father, I’ll die all alone.”

Elsewhere in the track he promises to change ‘for our daughter’ – referencing the former couple’s child Saga, who was born in March.

‘The beast killed the beauty; the last petal fell from the rose / And I loved you truly, that’s why it’s hard to let it go / I broke this home, but I’ll change for our daughter, so she’s not alone,’ he continues.
Daily Mail has contacted representatives for MGK and Megan Fox for further comment and has yet to hear back.
The Cliche hitmaker also opened up about his secret rehab stint at the end of last year in the wake of the split.
He told The New York Times’ Popcast podcast: ‘Here’s the real deal, I spent Christmas and New Year’s, the whole month of December and late November, in a rehab facility. I came out, the world was very loud about me and my personal business.
‘Ironically, neither me or Megan have said anything. To this day, there could have been zero drama and you would never know, because none of us have said one thing.
It’s all claims and things that have happened out of our control, I guess. I came home to this.’
Elsewhere on Treading Water, MGK reveals he wrote the track while ‘spending Christmas in rehabilitation’ and sings: I just broke somethin’, but I’m fixated on the gossip that I know is happenin’/ While I’m just being left out of the conversation.
‘It’s a complicated relationship, that’s nobody’s business.’
Kelly – real name Colson Baker – said Fox’s water broke as soon as he had finished his album, saying: ‘So my baby was up there like, “Nah, dad, you’re going to finish the album first.” Saga was waiting for the intro, damn.’
The pair have been rumored to have rekindled their romance in recent weeks after they were seen heading to Costa Rica with Saga – but have yet to officially confirm this.
He is also dad to daughter Casie, 16, from a past relationship, while Fox has three sons from her marriage to Brian Austin Green.
Kelly has been co-parenting Saga with his ex-fiancée after splitting over Thanksgiving – and had nothing but praise for the star during a chat on the Today Show last month.

‘Megan is a great mom,’ he gushed about the actress with whom he was in an on-off relationship for four years just days after hinting at their rumored reconciliation.
‘She’s killing it. I’m so excited,’ he said about the Transformers star’s fourth baby, who is also his second but their first child together.
On the morning show, he also opened up about the sentimental meaning behind their daughter’s name.
He explained that Saga’s name represents him and Fox’s journey of having a baby together.
They previously experienced a pregnancy loss, and the pair hinted about the devastating experience.
‘Coming back again, disappearing, coming back again,’ he said this week about their daughter’s name. ‘She is an epic story. And that’s what Saga means.’
He added: ‘I’m also of Norwegian heritage so that’s the Nordic goddess of storytelling.’
He also revealed what he hopes their daughter’s profession will be in the future.
‘I think she has a storytelling future ahead of her,’ he said.
MGK and Fox’s whirlwind romance dates back to 2020 when they started dating on the set of the 2021 crime thriller Midnight in the Switchgrass.
In late March, they welcomed their ‘little celestial seed,’ Saga. Over a year of dating, at the beginning of 2022, MGK proposed to Fox.
In early 2023, however, the ‘twin flames’ briefly split before reconciling shortly thereafter.

Later that same year, Fox revealed that they once suffered a miscarriage and made the heartbreaking confession in her poetry book, Pretty Boys Are Poisonous.
In February 2024, the singer also seemingly mentioned their loss in his song, ‘dont let me go,’ in which he sang: ‘How can I live with the fact / That my hand wasn’t on her stomach when we lost the baby.’
In November 2024, Fox announced she was pregnant and expecting a rainbow baby’ but they called it quits shortly after.
