Manchester City beat Newcastle 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium to move to within two points of league leaders Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola’s side cruised to a crucial win the Premier League title race thanks to goals from Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva.

Foden opened the scoring early on as he made a mazy run into the box before firing past Nick Pope.

Newcastle had some chances to get back into the game but they lacked quality in the final third and they were punished for it.

Silva added a second goal only two minutes after coming on to make it three wins in a row for the Citizens in all competitions.
