Man jailed 8 months for impersonating police officer in Kano

A Kano Shari’a Court sitting in Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State has sentenced a 33-year-old man, Nasiru Shitu, to eight months imprinsoment for impersonating a police officer.

Shitu, a resident of Kofar Waika Quarters of Kano city, was arrested on Sunday, September 21, 2025, around 5:00 p.m. at Kofar Dawanau, dressed in a police uniform.

The prosecution counsel, Barrister Zaharaddeen Mustapha, charged him with impersonation, to which the accused pleaded guilty.
