MCO, CAC Forge Stronger Partnership To Boost Transparency, Good Governance

ABUJA – The Mining Cadastre Office (MCO) and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) have agreed to deepen collaboration aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency, and regulatory compliance across Nigeria’s mining and corporate sectors.

This commitment was reaffirmed during a courtesy visit by the Director General of the MCO, Engr. Obadiah Simon Nkom, to the Registrar General of the CAC, Hussain Ishaq Magagi (SAN), on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Both leaders exchanged plaques as a symbol of their renewed partnership.

Engr. Nkom noted that the partnership builds on MCO’s success in digitizing mineral title administration through the eMC+ system, which has been lauded for promoting transparency and efficiency while boosting revenue generation.

He said the collaboration with CAC would further streamline processes and strengthen compliance with regulations in the mining industry.

On his part, Magagi revealed that the CAC has upgraded its facilities to Artificial Intelligence (AI) level, ensuring that companies are thoroughly screened and qualified before registration.

He stressed that the synergy with MCO will enhance accountability and foster good governance in both sectors.

Senior management staff of both agencies were present during the visit.
