April 08, (THEWILL) – Napoli bounced back from their 4-0 defeat to Milan with a 2-1 win against Lecce in Serie A on Friday.
Giovanni Di Lorenzo’s early header gave Napoli the lead, but Federico Di Francesco equalised for the hosts shortly after the interval. Napoli claimed all three points thanks to an own goal from Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone.
Despite a bright start from Lecce, Napoli took the lead in the 18th minute when Di Lorenzo powered home a header from Kim Min-jae’s cross. Falcone made a great save to deny Hirving Lozano just before halftime.

Lecce found the leveller soon after the break through Di Francesco’s fine finish. However, a mix-up between Antonino Gallo and Falcone from Mario Rui’s cross gifted Napoli the win from an unlikely own-goal.
Lecce put in a spirited performance and could count themselves unlucky not to have earned a draw. Napoli, meanwhile, will be relieved to have returned to winning ways after their heavy defeat to Milan. Falcone’s winner was a bizarre way to secure the three points, but it keeps Napoli’s title charge on track.
