ABUJA – The Federal Government of Nigeria has commiserated with Switzerland on the tragic fire incident at a ski resort, which claimed the lives of dozens of persons, with several others injured on New Year’s Day.

According to reports, the blaze broke out in the early hours of New Year’s Day at Le Constellation bar in Crans-Montana, one of Switzerland’s most exclusive locales.
Nigeria, in a statement by the Spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, on Friday said; “On behalf of the Government and people of Nigeria, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, conveys heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Switzerland, and extends sincere sympathies to the families of the victims who lost their lives in this unfortunate tragedy. Nigeria also wishes those injured a speedy and full recovery.
“The thoughts and prayers of the Government and people of Nigeria are with the Government and people of Switzerland during this period of mourning.”
