Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has made it onto Billboard’s prestigious 21 Under 21 list, which recognizes the most promising young musicians in the industry.
The 20-year-old is the only African artist to feature on the 2023 list, which was released on Monday.
Ayra Starr earned her place on the chart thanks to her impressive 138.2 million on-demand streams in the US.
Other talented young artists who made the list include Olivia Rodrigo, The Kid Laroi, D4vd, and Gayle.
In a recent interview, Ayra Starr revealed that she had prayed to one day make it onto former US President Obama’s playlist, and her song “Rush” did indeed feature on his 2022 end-of-year music playlist.
