The Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima has said that for Nigeria to maximize its enormous potentials inherent in the country, its citizens must rid themselves of divisive politics.
Shettima stated this on Saturday when the executive members of the Borno State’s chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC, led by its Chairman, Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori paid him a congratulatory visit in Abuja.
He also commended the leadership style and achievements of the party state chairman while applauding the party’s efforts in recent successes and victories made at the 2023 general election.
The VP-elect, further, reiterated his principal, Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s determination and commitment to reposition the nation’s economy for the betterment of all the Nigerian populace and growth of the nation.
According to him, “power comes from God, and since one will spend more years of one’s life outside power than in power. It is necessary for legacies to be left behind , especially , with communities as regards leaving them better than they were met. “
Speaking against divisive politics, Shettima emphasized on the need to embrace one another as brothers and sisters in diversity as Nigerians rather than engaging in divisive politics that will divide the people and frustrate the long established cordial relation and harmonious as well as peaceful co-exustnce among communities and people irrespective of our diversity in religion, ethnicity and political affiliation.
He also assured that efforts are being made for the new government to have an all inclusive system of governance while appealing to the ruling party leadership to continue to support the government of Governor Babagana Zulum in Borno State, noting that, ” he is a good man, and everyone should rally round him.”
Earlier, in his remark, the APC State Secretary, Hon. Bello Ayuba, who is a former Deputy Speaker, BOSHA, said the State party exco members were on congratulatory visit to the Vice President-Elect, saying,” everyone is happy with the victory achieved.”
Ayuba commended the efforts and support of the Vice President-Elect since he was in office as the state governor, while reiterating the party members unalloyed loyal and obedience to the Vice President-Elect at all times.
He however disclosed to the VP-Elect some anti party activities by some APC members and the intending disciplinary measures to be effected on those found guilty.
