In Aba, Enyimba International FC put on a commanding display, defeating Kwara United FC 3–1 to delight their home fans and reinforce their status as one of the league’s strongest sides. Away from home, Abia Warriors FC secured a crucial 1–0 victory over Kun Khalifat FC, snatching all three points in a tense encounter.
Bayelsa United FC also impressed on Sunday, edging past Remo Stars FC 2–1 in a spirited contest that kept supporters on the edge of their seats. At the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Barau FC were narrowly beaten 1–0 by Shooting Stars FC, as the Ibadan side ground out an important away win.
Defensive discipline took centre stage in Warri, where Warri Wolves FC and Kano Pillars FC played out a goalless draw, while Plateau United FC and Nasarawa United FC also shared the spoils in another 0–0 stalemate.
One of the most emphatic results of the weekend came from Niger Tornadoes FC, who cruised to a convincing 3–0 victory over El-Kanemi Warriors, boosting their confidence and league standing.
Action had begun earlier on Saturday, with Bendel Insurance FC and Enugu Rangers International FC settling for a 1–1 draw in a closely fought fixture.
Meanwhile, attention now turns to the outstanding Matchday 17 clash, where Ikorodu City FC will face Katsina United FC, a fixture expected to further shape the league table as the season progresses.
