People have been venting as 24-year-old passenger on the northbound train in New York held a black homeless man in a chokehold for 15 minutes after he aggressively complained about having no food or drink.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon at the Broadway-Lafayette station when Jordan Neely, the diseased, made a speech addressing other commuters on the train.
Juan Alberto Vazquez, one of the witnesses, revealed that Jordan said he had no food, he had no drink, that he was tired and doesn’t care if he goes to jail.
Jordan started screaming all these things, took off his black jacket, and threw it on the ground.
Jordan is accused of having shown threatening behavior towards people on the train, then a 24-year-old, who is a former US Marine whose identity is yet to be revealed put Jordan in a chokehold for 15 minutes.
It should be noted that Jordan never actually physically harmed anyone during his supposed rant.
While being held in a chokehold, Jordan eventually lost consciousness, and though paramedics were rushed to the scene, he was pronounced dead shortly after.
The blonde-haired man was reportedly taken into custody but was later released without charges.
The investigation remains ongoing as an autopsy is being performed before a decision will be made on whether the former Marine should still be faced charges or not.
People have been commenting on the case and have tagged the killing of Jordan a racist act.
Mizzlatina-b-, an Instagram user vented and said “Black race is hated the most on earth and it’s right in front of our faces and no one does nothing but yet you find justice for Gays, Transgender, Asians & Etc.
“Even an animal is treated more fairly. I Love You My Black Brothers & Sisters. I stand with you right along side you! RIP”.
Another instagram user, Its.missmacken, fumed and said “i’ve seen this man on the trains so many times and he has never tried to hurt anyone.
“He does get mad when people just ignore him & start yelling about his situation but never actually physically attacked anyone, nor has he ever even gotten into people’s personal space.
“I don’t know what happened today though because I wasn’t there, but this is so sad.
“He was a human being down on hard times and didn’t t deserve to be killed in cold blood #JusticeForNeely#”.
However, Tomdeblas, an Instagram user said “You cannot strangle someone for 15 minutes and not expect tragic results. Even if this dude were throwing punches, there are a ton better ways to control someone.
“This is ridiculous. When applied correctly someone will go unconscious in 5 to 10 seconds. If you hold it for another 45 seconds to a minute brain damage or worse will occur. What do you think will happen when holding for 15 min?”.
In conclusion, this situation has caused a stir and another rage in the heart of black people, especially when they remember the case of George Floyd.
