Plateau State Government has ordered the closure of roads in Jos and Bukuru metropolise to enhance the visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, scheduled for Saturday.
The State Commissioner for Information, Joyce Ramnap, made this announcement in a statement on Friday.
Ramnap emphasized that the decision was to enable the President to attend the burial of Nana Lydia Yilwada, mother of Prof. Nentawe Yilwada, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
“The Plateau State Ministry of Information and Communication hereby notifies the general public, particularly vehicle owners and commuters within Jos and Bukuru metropolis, of traffic diversions and restrictions in view of the visit of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the burial of Nana Lydia Yilwada, mother of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwada.
“To ensure a smooth flow of traffic and to facilitate the movement of the Presidential entourage, all motorists are kindly advised to make use of alternative routes from 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
“The following routes would be closed: Mararaban Jama’a through Bukuru expressway; Dadin-Kowa, Old Airport, to Plateau Hospital roundabout; Hillstation roundabout to COCIN Headquarters/Central Bank road,” she said.
The Commissioner, therefore, appealed for the cooperation and understanding of residents.
