Police Arrest Five Men In Connection To AKA’s Murder

March 27,(THEWILL) – Five men have reportedly been taken in for questioning in connection with the murder of South African rapper, Kiernan Forbes, popularly known as AKA.

Three of the suspects were taken into custody at a shopping centre in Belhar, Cape Town, by detectives from KwaZulu-Natal, who had been on the alleged hitmen’s trail for the past two weeks.

Two others were reportedly apprehended in the same neighbourhood.

A breakthrough in the case was reportedly made after DNA and fingerprints were found in a deserted getaway vehicle discovered in Umlazi.

One of the fingerprints was linked to an alleged taxi hitman from Empangeni. Police officers located the man after he tried to register for government grants, and established he was already in Cape Town with his alleged accomplices.

The suspects were under surveillance before being apprehended for questioning on Sunday.

AKA and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane were shot and killed outside a restaurant in Durban on February 10.

Footage showed the rapper and his friend hugging outside the establishment before a gunman walked from the side of a vehicle parked outside Wish and fired at the rapper and his friend as bystanders scattered.
