Police Arrest Two Suspects, Recover Pistol

Two suspected criminals have been arrested by the operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command, and a pistol was recovered from their including live ammunition.

The arrest was made at Kabala West on 15 September 2025 in the Kaduna South Local Government area of the state, around 1:30 am by a police patrol.

According to a security and counterinsurgency expert on his verified X account @zazOlamakama (formerly Twitter), the patrol team led by ASP Paul Ricki stationed in the Kabala West Area of the state stopped the suspects while they were riding a black TVS motorcycle close to a bridge at Unguwan Mu’azu road along the Kaduna Bypass expressway.

Ricki said, “Upon search, a Mackrove 9mm pistol loaded with three live rounds of ammunition was recovered from the suspects.”

The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Hassan, 19, of Layin Pampo, and Usman Abubakar, 21, of Unguwan Dankali, Zaria, were immediately arrested and are currently in custody.

The case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation according to police sources who preferred anonymity.
